Tony Massey Appointed Chair of the Heart of Florida United Way

Tony Massey, president and COO of Massey Services, has been appointed Chair of the Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW) 2014-2015 fundraising campaign. As Chairman, Massey was provided the symbolic red jacket on Tuesday September 9th as he heads the campaign cabinet for the organization’s 75th Heart of Florida United Way Campaign.

Tony Massey will work with community partners and donors to reach the campaign’s goal of $18.8 million. HFUW is the largest fundraiser for health and human services in Central Florida, providing millions of dollars to fund 60 programs CWP_6679addressing education, income, health and basic needs. The organization relies heavily on giving through local workplace campaigns. Massey Services has been a proud supporter of HFUW for more than two decades; its team members actively engage in raising funds and volunteering for the organization.

“I’m proud to be leading this year’s United Way campaign to reach the goal of $18.8 million”, said Massey. “The agency’s values and philosophy closely align with the core values of Massey Services, which include volunteerism and teamwork to serve the community, therefore this partnership with United Way is a natural fit.”

Last year’s campaign, which concluded in April, contributed $18.3 million to the total $26.6 million raised, managed and distributed in 2013-2014 by Heart of Florida United Way. Funds from workplace giving and other avenues are strategically allocated to results-driven partner agencies to support programs impacting one or more of United Way’s focus areas.
