Tony Massey learned the pest management business from the ground up starting at age 16 as a termite technician for Terminix International where he continued to work during summer vacations. Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Management from the University of Alabama, he joined Massey Services as a Manager Trainee in 1989. He was quickly promoted to Assistant Director of Finance, followed by Director of Administration and Director of Administration & Personnel. In 1993, Tony was promoted to the position of General Manager for the Kissimmee Service Center.
In 1995, Tony was promoted to Regional Manager of the South Region and in 1998 was named Vice President and Regional Manager of the Central Florida Region (Massey’s largest region). In 1999, his role expanded to include the Georgia Region and New Construction Division. In 2002, Tony was promoted to Executive Vice President, Consumer Services and placed in charge of the entire Consumer Services Division.
In December 2004 Tony was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer. Then in September 2006, he was promoted to President. On September 10, 2021, Tony was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer, where he is responsible for all Company operations including residential and commercial pest prevention, termite protection, landscape services, irrigation services, and Massey’s New Construction Division. In addition to Operations, Tony also oversees the Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Customer Care, Sales & Business Development and Quality Assurance teams.
In Central Florida, Tony served as Chairman for the Heart of Florida United Way 2014-2015 campaign. He also served on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Central Florida. Tony is Past Chairman of Florida Citrus Sports and serves as the Legal Chair on their Executive Committee. He is currently the Past Chairman on the Orlando Museum of Art’s Executive Committee and a member of the Executive Committee for the Orlando Economic Partnership. He is a board member for SunTrust Bank’s Central Florida Board of Directors and for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida. He also serves on the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) Board of Directors.
In 2012, Tony was recognized by Pest Control Technology (PCT) Magazine as a Crown Leadership Award winner. This award spotlights individuals who have contributed positively to the growth and development of the structural pest control industry. That same year he was also recognized as a C-Level Award winner by the Orlando Business Journal for his contributions and commitment to his profession and outstanding performance in Central Florida. In 2018, Tony received the Spirit of Achievement Award from Junior Achievement of Central Florida for his inspiring leadership and business excellence in the Central Florida community. In 2019, Tony was awarded with the Father of the Year Award from the American Diabetes Association and Father’s Day Council. This recognition is bestowed on Orlando’s most successful businessmen for being great fathers who successfully balance their work and family lives while also serving as a role model to their children and community.
Tony completed the OPM Key Executive Program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Business Administration and the Key Executive MBA program at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
