Suzanne Graham Named 2016 Woman of Distinction by Florida Home Builders Association
Suzanne Graham, Director of Government Affairs for Massey Services, has been honored by the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) as its 2016 Woman of Distinction, a recognition awarded by over 7,800 FHBA members across the state. Selected by a council of industry leaders, the award is presented to a woman member who exhibits best practices, expertise and exceptional leadership qualities.
Graham was presented the award during the FHBA Fall Leadership Conference at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa in Miramar, Florida.
Graham has dedicated more than 20 years of her life to bettering the building industry environment. She became a state contractor to empathize with builders in the area and become a leader in the industry. She served as the first woman president of the Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association in 2006 and the second woman president of FHBA in 2013.
Graham is an intelligent and savvy business leader, operating multiple successful businesses; a Florida state certified pest control operator; and a Florida certified building contractor. She recently won the Florida Commission on the Status of Woman Florida Achievement award, recognizing her work in improving the lives of women and families in the community.
In addition to her many industry leadership roles, including a recent appointment by Governor Rick Scott to the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council, Graham gives back to her community by supporting many local charities including Future Builders of America, Tidewell Hospice, Charlotte County Homeless Coalition and youth sports.
“We strive to emphasize the outstanding successes and innovations of woman builders and trade partners. Suzanne has an infectious love of the homebuilding industry,” said Rusty Payton, FHBA CEO/Chief Lobbyist. “Her passion in reducing the burden of unnecessary regulations has benefited all homeowners in Florida.”
Established in 1949, the Florida Home Builders Association is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Florida’s local/regional homebuilder associations. FHBA, along with its affiliates, work to create the best possible economic and regulatory environment for members to succeed.
