Get to Know Tia:

Q: Who do you admire and why?

Tia: Phillip Chatham – the General Manager of my service center. He is hardworking, a dedicated leader no matter the difficulty of a situation, brings humor to our team and works alongside the entire team.

Q: Favorite sports team?

Tia: Florida State, GO SEMINOLES!

Q: Favorite snack?

Tia: Fruit gushers.

Q: What is the one thing you could not live without?

Tia: My kids!

Q: Three words that best describe you?

Tia: Goofy, hardworking and caring.

The Career:

Q: Tell us a little about your job?
Tia: I schedule times to go to people’s homes to inspect if they have a lawn issue and provide them the best possible solution that our company can provide to solve it.

Q: What does your average day look like?
Tia: I first start off my day by taking my kids to school or daycare. Then I head into the office to look over my schedule for the day, check in with my manager and head out to see customers – about five per day.

Q: Share a notable (funny, embarrassing or exciting) experience you’ve had at work:
Tia: There are a lot of lawn pests and issues to learn about when first starting this job – which is critical especially during inspections. There was a specific pest, called a “Tuttle Mealy Bug” and before I had my lawn training, I thought it was called a “Tunnel Mealy Bug”. I was a little embarrassed to find out during a meeting but that’s what learning is for!

Q: Who do you look to for inspiration?
Tia: Daryl Flournoy – my sales manager. He always has high spirits, a positive attitude and is always available to provide answers to questions or solutions to problems.

Q: What do you believe makes your career at Massey Services truly unique?
Tia: Being a single mother, Massey has always and continues to work with me to have a flexible schedule. The benefits the company offers, help myself and family tremendously.

Thank you Tia, for going above and beyond for our customers and being a shining example of why it’s our people that MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
