Q: Who do you admire and why?
Mary: Mother Theresa – for her years and years of humble service, in the name of Jesus, to those around her who are suffering.
Q: What is your greatest accomplishment?
Mary: Together with my husband, Hans Spirig, raising our daughter, Monica.
Q: What is your favorite Thanksgiving side dish?
Mary: Squash casserole – the one my son-in-law, Jeremy, makes. Apparently, there is not a written recipe!
Q: What is your favorite movie of all-time and why?
Mary: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Reminds me of my struggles every year with Christmas lights.
Q: What three words best describe you?
Mary: Friendly, hardworking, consistent.
The Career:
Q: What made you interested in working for Massey Services?
A: My daughter was working there as a college intern, and she loved her job. When she became aware there was an opening, and she knew I was looking to make a change, she introduced me to the lady who was the HR Manager at the time.
Q: What does your average workday look like?
A: There is no such thing as an “average” workday in HR. Each day, I talk with a lot of people, and process a lot of paperwork.
Q: What is the best part about your job?
A: The awesome people I work with!
Q: Which skills have you learned on the job?
A: I knew next to nothing about HR when I came to Massey. I’m far from an expert, but I’ve picked up a lot of valuable information.
Q: What do you believe makes your career at Massey Services truly unique?
A: The culture – we are a very generous organization.
