June Team Member Spotlight: Jeff Fox
For nearly a quarter century, Jeff Fox has been a driving force at Massey Services, leading teams, developing future leaders and building lasting relationships with customers and colleagues across Florida. As a Service Manager, Jeff’s career has been defined by a commitment to service, integrity and a leadership philosophy centered on leading by example.
Originally from Michigan and now residing in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, Jeff has spent 24 years with Massey Services. His journey in leadership began long before joining the company, thanks to an early mentor who helped shape his career.
“In the beginning of my professional career, a supervisor named John Grissiom took me under his wing, trained me, and promoted me to my first management position with Winn-Dixie when I was just 18 years old,” Jeff recalls. “The rest is history.”
Since that first opportunity, Jeff has spent more than 50 years in management roles, developing a leadership style built on hard work, integrity and accountability. He credits a close friend who worked at Massey Services for introducing him to the company, a decision that would lead to a rewarding and fulfilling career.
Throughout his tenure, Jeff has embraced the company’s values and mission. Recently, he was recognized with one of the organization’s highest honors, the Harvey L. Massey Award, during the Eagle Circle Awards banquet.
“It was an honor to receive the Harvey L. Massey Award,” Jeff says. “It’s also an honor to work for a great organization with great leaders, where our core values push us to be the best in the industry.”
Customer First Approach
Jeff’s typical workday reflects his passion for leadership and people development. His responsibilities include training and mentoring team members, recruiting new talent, supporting customers and growing the business. However, he believes the key to success is simple.
“What has been most successful for me is to lead by example and from the heart,” he says. “You can never go wrong.”
That customer-first approach is also what Jeff enjoys most about his role.
“My team members and my customers are what keep me going,” he says. “Your people count on you. Communicate with them and, most of all, listen to them. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from them.”
Over the years, Jeff has gained extensive knowledge across all categories of Massey Services and has become state certified, allowing him to better train and mentor others. He takes pride in helping team members develop their skills while ensuring customers receive exceptional service.
Leadership at Every Level
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Jeff remains committed to giving back to the community. He supports charitable initiatives such as the Rotary Club Chili Cook-Off, which benefits children with medical needs locally and around the world, and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Golf Tournament, which supports youth programs throughout the county.
As he reflects on his career, Jeff says the relationships he has built are what he values most.
“My career at Massey has been so gratifying,” he says. “The things I’ve learned over the years are more than I could have ever imagined. But most of all, it’s the team members I’ve met along the way—from Boca Raton and Fort Myers to Clearwater, Lakeland, Winter Haven and The Villages. Those are the friends I will truly miss when I retire.”
When asked to describe his work ethic, Jeff’s answer is straightforward: lead by example, work hard, do what needs to be done and always do the right thing. Those principles have guided him throughout his career and have helped make him a respected leader within the Massey Services family.
After 24 years with the company, Jeff’s impact can be seen not only in the success of the business but also in the countless team members he has mentored and inspired along the way.
