October Team Member Spotlight: Sharine Wynter

Finding Purpose in People, Service and Community

Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, and now residing in Orlando, Florida, Sharine Wynter has spent the past year and a half building her career at Massey Services. As a Human Resources Assistant, she plays a role in supporting team members throughout their employment journey, helping create a workplace where people feel valued and supported.

For Wynter, the opportunity to join Massey Services began with a search for a position in her chosen field. With a passion for people and a desire to serve others, she was looking for a company where she could grow professionally while making a meaningful contribution. As she explored the company’s website, one story stood out: Massey team members selecting charities, purchasing personalized gifts and wrapping presents for children during the Christmas season.

That example of community involvement resonated with Wynter and gave her a glimpse of a company whose values aligned with her own.

Since joining Massey Services, she has discovered that her role offers far more than a traditional human resources position. As she explains, HR encompasses much more than a team member’s first and last days on the job. It involves everything in between, with each day bringing new challenges, experiences and opportunities to learn.

“No two days are the same, because if you think you have seen it all, then just wait until tomorrow,” Wynter says. “I would like it no other way because it keeps things interesting.”

The dynamic nature of her work has strengthened her adaptability and ability to manage competing priorities. With processes, technologies and policies continually evolving, Wynter has learned the importance of remaining flexible while approaching her responsibilities with dependability, conscientiousness and accountability.

Yet, when asked about the best part of her job, Wynter points not to a particular task or accomplishment, but to the people around her.

“I came looking for a job, but I found something far more valuable, a second family,” she says.

Wynter credits her HR team with helping her learn and grow during her time at Massey. The relationships she has developed with her colleagues have become an especially meaningful part of her experience, and she values the knowledge and support they have shared with her along the way.

One person who has made a lasting professional impression on Wynter is Massey Services’ Kelly O’Rourke, mentor for Sharine in the Human Resources department. Wynter admires O’Rourke’s leadership, extensive knowledge and dedication to serving others. She also appreciates the way O’Rourke earns the respect of colleagues. Always ensuring they feel valued, demonstrating the importance of integrity, hard work and commitment to the team.

That emphasis on service extends beyond the workplace. Through HR Director Melissa Meyer, Wynter was introduced to the Foundation for Foster Children (FFC), an organization that supports children and youth in the community. Inspired by its mission of enhancing the lives of children in foster care, Wynter began volunteering and has embraced opportunities to contribute to its work.

Her involvement with FFC reflects a broader commitment to making a difference wherever she can. She looks forward to volunteering at events and opportunities to support the organization, including its Trunk or Treat event, which brings community members together for a Halloween celebration.

For Wynter, volunteering is a natural extension of the values she sees reflected at Massey Services. What initially caught her attention while researching the company has become a meaningful part of her own experience: the opportunity to contribute to something larger than herself.

That commitment to service also shapes her life outside the company. As a soldier in the U.S. Army Reserves, Wynter balances her professional responsibilities with her dedication to serving her country. She credits her military experience with instilling in her the discipline, teamwork and commitment she brings to her work in Human Resources.

Her career at Massey Services allows her to bring these different aspects of her life together, serving her country, supporting her colleagues and giving back to her community while continuing to build a career in HR.

“I’m proud to be part of a company that encourages its employees to make a difference and allows me to live out my values every day,” Wynter says.

For Human Resources Assistant Sharine Wynter, a career at Massey Services is about more than supporting team members. It’s an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, serve her community and live out the values that guide her both in and out of the workplace.

As Massey Services recognizes Wynter as its October Team Member Spotlight, her story highlights the impact of finding a workplace where professional growth and personal values go hand in hand. Through her dedication to her HR team, her involvement with the Foundation for Foster Children and her service in the U.S. Army Reserves, Wynter demonstrates that a meaningful career is about more than the work itself. It is also about the relationships built, the people served and the positive difference made along the way.
