January Team Member Spotlight: Gary Heath
Building Systems, Growing Leaders and Investing in the Future
For more than 18 years, Gary Heath has built a career at Massey Services defined by growth, adaptability and impact. From frontline roles to senior leadership, Gary’s journey reflects the power of internal development and a commitment to making both the business—and the community—stronger.
From Orlando Roots to Senior Leadership
Born in Orlando and raised in Osceola County, Gary now lives in Orlando, Florida, where he serves as Senior Division Manager of New Construction. His Massey Services career began in December 2009 as part of the Middleton Lawn and Pest Control acquisition—a turning point that opened the door to long-term growth within one organization.
Over the years, Gary has advanced through a wide range of roles, including:
- Sales Inspector – Middleton
- Assistant District Office Manager – Middleton
- Outbound Call Center Manager – Middleton
- Project Manager – Middleton
- Corporate Services Manager
- Business Analysis Manager
- Director of Business Analysis
- Senior Director of Business Analysis
Now with 18 years, 3 months, and 15 days at Massey Services, Gary continues to credit the company’s commitment to internal growth as a key reason he has stayed and continued to take on new challenges.
“I value the ability to grow internally and continue developing as a leader while staying with one organization.”
Turning Ideas into Action
When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Gary describes always having his “hands on the clay.” His passion lies in building and improving systems that help teams perform better.
“I enjoy working across departments to solve real operational problems and seeing ideas move from analysis or hypothesis into execution.”
That blend of strategy, data and operations has been a defining theme throughout his career—and one that continues to drive results across the organization.
Giving Back Through Junior Achievement
Beyond his professional role, Gary is deeply involved in community outreach through Junior Achievement, an organization that helps students connect classroom learning to real-world business skills. Junior Achievement programs focus on financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship, giving students early exposure to careers, leadership, and decision-making.
Gary first became involved more than 15 years ago through Massey Services’ community and education partnerships, supporting fundraisers, bowl-a-thons, and teaching “JA in a Day” classes for elementary students.
Inside the 3DE Program
One of the Junior Achievement initiatives Gary supports is the 3DE program, an innovative high school learning model that brings real businesses into the classroom through live case studies. Unlike simulations, these are current business challenges tied to real-world operations, finance, marketing, technology and customer experience.
Throughout the year students learn to:
- Analyze real data
- Develop recommendations within real constraints
- Present solutions to business leaders
The program emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, professional communication, and data-driven decision-making—while teaching students how businesses operate, from trade-offs to execution.
For companies like Massey Services, 3DE creates early exposure to career paths students may not otherwise see and helps them understand what skills truly matter in the workplace.
“At its core, 3DE prepares students to think like professionals before they ever enter the workforce.”
A Team Effort with Lasting Impact
Gary isn’t alone in this effort. Members of his team—and colleagues across multiple departments—actively participate by mentoring students, providing project guidance and engaging directly with student groups. In 2025 alone, Massey Services team members have logged well over 50 hours supporting JA Inspire and 3DE programs.
One moment that stands out most to Gary is watching students confidently present their solutions after working through complex challenges—and seeing how much they grow from the beginning of the program to the end.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Massey Services’ commitment to Junior Achievement continues to grow. In 2026, plans include expanding student involvement, increasing engagement between Massey Services leaders and students, and continuing strong support for project-based learning programs like 3DE. The company will also participate in JA Inspire on February 3, and the Massey Services Foundation has committed $35,000 to support the cause.
A Career Defined by Growth and Purpose
When reflecting on what makes his career at Massey Services unique, Gary points to the rare combination of long tenure and evolving responsibility.
“I’ve had the opportunity to move between strategy, analysis and operations while contributing to both business results and community impact.”
It’s that balance—between building strong systems, developing people, and giving back—that continues to define Gary Heath’s journey at Massey Services.
