August Team Member Spotlight, Jessica Pearson is Breaking Barriers
Seminole, FL – For many professionals, no two days at work are ever quite the same. But for Massey Services’ Sales Inspector Jessica Pearson, unpredictability is exactly what keeps the job exciting.
Originally from Wolcott, Connecticut, and now based in Seminole, Florida, Jessica spends most days crawling through attics and inspecting properties in St. Petersburg’s Old Historic Northeast. Whether it’s termites, lawn care, irrigation, or pest prevention, the scope of the work is as varied as it is essential.
“It can take me anywhere,” she says. “You’ll mostly find me crawling through an attic hunting for termites. After that, I could be doing anything from irrigation, lawn, and pest inspections.”
Before joining Massey Services nearly three years ago, she held a demanding position as an operations manager that had her constantly on the road and on-call, all while juggling college and parenting a toddler.
“I decided I needed a change,” she recalls. “A good friend told me about Massey and the family-oriented atmosphere here. That was exactly what I needed.”
That leap of faith not only brought her a more balanced life—it also launched her into unexpected success. Recently recognized as one of Massey’s Sales Inspectors of the Year, Jessica credits her achievement to the unwavering support of her mentors and a relentless desire to learn.
“When I came to Massey, I had never sold anything a day in my life,” she admits. “But my general manager, Don Fisher, and others like Joe Albino and Nathan Jones, taught me everything—from how to sell to building and maintaining customer relationships.”
Her personal mantra? “Never stop learning. Knowledge and practice are power.”
Working in a male-dominated industry, she also takes pride in challenging expectations. “Most people don’t expect to see a woman at the door, let alone grabbing a ladder and climbing into their attic,” she says. “Being a woman in this field is empowering, fun, and rewarding.”
Beyond the technical skills, her role has taught her something even more valuable: fearlessness. “Not just when it comes to bugs,” she adds with a smile, “but in life. We go into customers’ homes every day and solve their problems. You must be fearless.”
With a unique perspective shaped by experiences across residential pest, commercial pest, and lawn services—all housed under one roof—she continues to thrive in an environment that fosters collaboration, growth, and mutual support.
“The team here has become more like family,” she says. “And that makes all the difference.”
