Andrea Massey-Farrell Appointed to Nemours Foundation

Harvey L. Massey, chairman and CEO of Massey Services, is proud to announce that Andrea Massey-Farrell, president and CEO of the Harvey and Carol Massey Foundation, Inc., has been appointed to the Florida Board of Managers of the Nemours Foundation.

The Nemours Foundation is a non-profit organization created by Alfred I. DuPont nearly 80 years ago. andrea-massey-farrellIts mission is to restore and improve the health of children through programs not readily available. The Foundation owns and operates the Nemours Children’s Hospital in Lake Nona’s Medical City, Nemours Children’s Specialty Care locations in Delaware, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and the Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Delaware. Overall, the medical facilities treat more than 300,000 children annually.

“As a mother of two young boys and an aunt to eight nieces and nephews, Andrea is intimately aware of how childhood illnesses can impact a family,” said Harvey Massey. “Her involvement with the Nemours Foundation and its mission to provide high-level medical care for so many young lives is an expression of her commitment to the health of future generations.”

Andrea is a fervent advocate for educational advancement, improved health and the arts. She serves on several boards including Orange County CRC Governing Board, the Rollins College Hamilton Holt School Advisory Board, the Orlando Shakespeare Theater Board of Trustees, the Winter Park YMCA Family Center Board and the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Board. She is a 2011 winner of the Woman of Distinction award presented by Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, and was also a 2012 nominee for the Orlando Business Journal’s Women to Watch award.

Harvey L. Massey Honored with Mennello Distinguished Service Award

Massey Services is proud to announce that Harvey L. Massey, chairman and CEO of Massey Services, is the recipient of The Honorable Marilyn Logsdon Mennello 2015 Distinguished Service Award. The award was presented at “An Evening With Fabulous Friends” black-tie gala, which was recently held at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes, and is the signature fundraising event for the Mennello Museum. “I am honored to be the recipient of this award, which is given in memory of a great person who supported arts and culture in Central Florida,” said Mr. Massey. “As a benefactor of the arts in our community, we are so pleased to continue Marilyn’s mission to make the arts accessible to all through exhibitions and educational programs.”

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Massey recognized Marilyn’s husband, Michael, for his tireless and continued support of the arts. “It would not be an understatement to say that Michael Mennello has poured every fiber of his being into enhancing and improving the quality of art in our community,” Massey shared.

Mr. Massey is highly active in the community, and has received many honors for his contributions, and those from Massey Services and the Harvey & Carol Massey Foundation. The Massey Family were one of the first main supporters of the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center, instrumental in the completion of the Central Florida Veterans Memorial, and sponsored “The Union Sculpture” as part of See Art Orlando’s Downtown Project, as well as being a major contributor to United Arts each year.

Massey Services Acquires MayDay Pest Solutions in Austin, TX

Harvey L. Massey Honored by Florida Citrus Sports

Our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Harvey L. Massey was recently presented with a very special award from Florida Citrus Sports – the Howard Palmer Award. This honor is given annually to a member of the community who, without regard for personal recognition, has maintained a long and active relationship with Florida Citrus Sports, continuously supporting and contributing to the success of the organization. This award is the organization’s highest service honor and recognizes a “lifetime” of service to Florida Citrus Sports. Congratulations Mr. Massey!

Mr. Massey has been involved with Florida Citrus Sports for nearly 25 years and has held various positions within the organization such as president (1998-99) and chairman (1999-2000). Harvey Massey Recognized With James B. Green Award from Metro Orlando EDC

Local business leader and philanthropist, Harvey L. Massey,CEO and founder of Orlando-based Massey Services, Inc., has been named recipient of the 2009 James B. Greene Economic Development Award by the MetroOrlando Economic Development Commission (EDC).

The James B. Greene Economic Development Award, first presented in 1990, is the highest honor bestowed by the EDC. The award recognizes an individual whose efforts have contributed substantially to the economic vitality of the region.

“I’m deeply moved by this tremendous recognition from the Orlando EDC,” said Mr. Massey. “We have been blessed since we began our business here in Orlando24 years ago. We are proud to count many of Central Florida’s finest as Team Members and to have made a positive impact on the local economy.”

Mr. Massey will be recognized at the annual awards dinner, to be held on March 18, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. Since 1990, the EDC has bestowed 19 leaders in Central Florida with the James B. Greene Economic Development Award.

Harvey Massey Named Junior Achievement Hall of Fame Laureate

Local business leader and philanthropist, Harvey L. Massey,CEO and founder of Orlando-based Massey Services, Inc., has been inducted as a Laureate into the Junior Achievement Mid-Florida Business Hall of Fame.

The Junior Achievement banquet, held on Nov, 20, 2008 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida,has honored some of the top business and community leaders in Central Florida for the past 30 years. More than 1,300 guests attended the event, which attracted many past recipients and their colleagues. Also honored as 2008 Hall of Fame Laureates were Alan Ginsburg of CED Companies and the late William C. France of NASCAR. University of Central Florida President John C. Hitt was bestowed the Spirit of Achievement Award.

“I’m deeply honored to share this recognition with distinguished leaders such as Dr. John Hitt, Alan Ginsberg, and the late Bill France, Jr., a truly remarkable group of community and business leaders,” said Mr. Massey. “Over the years, I’ve learned that one of the singular and absolute truths in business, as well as in life, is that no one scales the business mountain and stays there for any period of time without the help, hard work,support and encouragement of a lot of generous and unselfish people who keep you moving along the way. Nominees are selected by peer vote with inductees chosen by an anonymous committee impaneled by Pest Management Professional. Criteria for selection include industry expertise and experience, leadership and innovation.

Mr. Massey helped to revolutionize the industry with the development and introduction of “pest prevention” as a service model, replacing traditional pest control. The business that bears his name is one of the nation’s largest and most respected service companies, providing residential and commercial pest prevention, termite protection and landscape services since to more than 181,000customers from 61 service centers throughout Florida,Georgia and Louisiana. In addition, Mr. Massey helped found the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), an advocacy and promotional organization designed to elevate the professional status of the industry. Over the years, Mr. Massey has received numerous industry related awards and accolades, culminating in selection to the Pest Management Professional Hall of Fame.
