Happy Earth Day!

As we celebrate Earth Day today, some may ask the question – Can a pest, termite and landscape services company really be Green???

The fact is, Massey Services has been dedicated to providing environmentally responsible services for over 20 years – long before it became politically andenviromental-benefits socially in vogue. For example…

  • We eliminated the indiscriminate spraying of pesticides in your home by creating Pest PREVENTION, an environmentally responsible alternative to traditional pest control.
  • We pioneered termite pre-construction and post-construction treatment programs that save up to 400 gallons of water per treatment.
  • Our landscape services include soil aeration (soil perforation) – one of the most envriomentally beneficial practices for a green, healthy landscape. Soil aeration increases oxygren in the soil which enhances deep root growth, maximizes water absorption and reduces fertilizer run off.

Massey Services has been recognized by the U.S Enviromental Protection Agency and Orange County as an environmental steward and has been an industry environmental leader for decades.

Green isn’t such a new idea.
At Massey Services, its part of our past… and our future.

Massey Services Receives the ACG-Orlando 2012 SMART Award

Last week, Massey was recognized by the Association for Corporate Growth®(ACG®)-Orlando with the 2012 SMART Award in the Services category.

Each year, ACG-Orlando recognizes companies whose accomplishments set the standard for operating excellence among middle market, second-stage growth companies with headquarters in Central Florida. “Massey Services is honored to be recognized by ACG-Orlando with the SMART award,” said Harvey L. Massey, Chairman and CEO of Massey Services. “However, this recognition would not be possible without the collective performance of our team members. I truly believe regardless of what business you are in, you are only as good as your people and I’m proud of our team and their dedication to outstanding customer service.”

The SMART Awards demonstrate ACG® Orlando’s continuing commitment to facilitate relationships among middle-market companies, capital sources and professionals active in corporate finance.

Best Places to Work – 2nd Year in a Row!

I usually don’t take the time to brag but when I received this information I was very excited to share it! For the past few years we’ve been nominated as one of the Best Places to Work in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal. And, for the last two years we’ve been a finalist – selected as one of the top 5 companies in our category!

And the selection process isn’t easy!  It’s based on an anonymous online survey that is sent to all team members in the greater Orlando area. The survey questions cover various aspects of our company’s culture and include topics such as manager effectiveness, trust in our senior leaders and feeling valued as a Massey team member.

So what sorts of things go on at Massey Services that make us a finalist? How about our annual awards banquet, our fundraising events that include bake sales, coffee and donut breakfasts, pizza lunches and jeans days all to raise money for several organizations we support, our free health screening and our team building exercises at our annual Manager’s meeting, just to name a few.

Best Places to Work – 2nd Year in a Row.  So there you have it, my one brag for the year.
