If you live in the St. Johns Water Management District, note the change to your watering schedule:

  • Houses ending in an odd number (1,3,5,7,9) or that don’t have an address:
    • Water on Saturday
  • Houses ending in an even number (0,2,4,6,8):
    • Water on Sunday

How long will this change last?

  • These new watering restrictions are in effect November 1, 2009 and will last until March 14, 2010. For a full calendar, click here.

How Long Can I Water For?

  • Water for no longer than one hour per zone.

What Time Can I Water My Lawn?

  • You can water before 10am and after 4pm. This happens to be the best time for you to water your lawn as well. Watering before 10am and after 4pm ensures the water has a chance to reach the root zone before it evaporates and ensures excess water burns off in the sun which reduces the chance for several weeds, insects and diseases that thrive in excess moisture conditions.

How Will This Change Affect My Lawn?

  • It shouldn’t affect your lawn at all.  During the winter months, you only need to water your lawn once per week. In the cooler temperatures your lawn growth slows and over watering can actually lead to disease.
